Karolina Zakrzewska

Karolina Zakrzewska came to India nine years ago as a representative of a Scandinavian travel agency. Over the years she has worked both as a roundtrip guide in the north of India and as service manager in Goa. Several years ago she started some of the most popular hotels for the Scandinavian market.

During her years in India, she has also had the opportunity to immerse herself in her greatest passion…Yoga…a passion that arose long before coming to India. She has participated in workshops with Kino McGregor, Tim Feldman, Ken the Rolfer, David Swenson and Emil Wendel. She has spent months in Uttarkashi, Haridwar, Rishikesh and McLeod Ganj in various ashrams where she had had the opportunity to deepen her knowledge of the yogic philosophy and the physical yoga.

Her main sources of inspiration and guidance are her beloved teachers Rolf and Marcy Naujkat, with whom she has studied intensively since 2006. She is also very inspired by Julie Martin, a dedicated ashtanga and vinyasa flow teacher and founder of Brahmani Yoga in Anjuna, Goa. Julie has taught her to incorporate more playfulness into the daily practice.

Karolina has completed:

  • 200 hour Teacher Training in Hatha Yoga with Vijai Amar Universal School of Yoga.
  • 220 hour course in Clinical Yoga and Shatkarmas Santosh Puri Ashram in Haridwar.
  • 500 hour Teacher Training in Ashtanga Yoga Brahmani Yoga in Anjuna.

Karolina is a registered Yoga Alliance teacher.

She focuses her teaching on breathing, strength and movement. She combines work with alignment and strong adjustments in the various asanas. With her teaching, she hopes to guide her students towards an inner peace. She strives to provide the students with guidance on both the physical and mental level. Karolina has a great interest in the human body and how each asana affects us mentally and physically. She believes in a strong but gentle mind in a healthy body.

Yogasana practice is a moving meditation. Through our training, we get in touch with our inner voice and our inner beauty. Karolina encourages her students to challenge themselves and to practice with self-awareness. She also believes that through continuous training yoga can prevent and heal physical and mental injuries. Yoga is an experiment, a slow change in our physical and mental bodies. It can be a challenge and requires a certain discipline in order to fully enjoy the ripe fruit and the true essence of yoga. And remember – a little yoga is better than no yoga at all.

“The body is our temple, asana is our prayer “ Sri B.K.S Iyengar
